Killed at the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China!!
Dear Annamaria,

As you read this, dogs and cats are being brutally beaten and murdered for the gruesome Yulin Dog Meat Festival, an annual 10-day event that starts on the summer solstice. These dogs and cats are often stolen from families who love them and are slaughtered with their collars still on.

We have the power to stop this. Join us on the night of June 30 – marking the last day of the festival – to hold vigil for the innocent animals murdered in Yulin. The event is supported by a coalition of organizations including LCA, Duo Duo Project, Their TurnDirect Action Everywhere and others.

Join the Vigil and Protest the Slaughter of Dogs and Cats!!

What: A candlelight vigil for the thousands of dogs and cats slaughtered at the Yulin Dog Meat Festival. Please bring a candle and a photo of a dog or cat you represent.

When: Thursday, June 30 (times vary by location)

Where: In cities around the world. Use this link to find a vigil near you (click “see more” for the list), or hold a vigil of your own!

LCA will be attending the Los Angeles vigil, happening June 30, 2016 from 7-10pm at Howard Hughes Promenade, 6081 Center Dr, Los Angeles, California 90045.
LCA will have signs available at the Los Angeles event.

  1. Inasmuch as I’m an animal lover, the greater picture is that man -as in “mankind”- has a sin nature, and far worse things continue to be done against our fellow men.
As grotesque as this festival is, giving just one example, the acts the Islamic state and their Sharia law commits bear this out. China is hardly alone in what us westerners would consider egregious.
A vigil for all the innocent blood shed in the name of “choice” would be just as, if not more appropriate.
    Proverbs 6:16-19

These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, …

    • It looks like you haven’t seen and heard what is done to dogs in China and elsewhere where dog/cat eating and fur are legal. For you to say people do worse to each other as if it’s also accepted and approved of by society, is nothing short of ridiculous. You need to take a look and listen to what happens to these dogs, what their “lives” and deaths are like. NOTHING is or ever has been worse than that. Take a look at this blog’s current post about the little pregnant dog with the title POOREST DOG CRY BEFORE PUT TO DEATH IN #YULIN. Then tell me how anything people do to each other is “far worse.” Wow, I am disgusted by your thinking.
