Press Release: Thailand Floods Causing Chaos for 60,000 Stray Dogs


World Vets has veterinary rescue volunteers in Bangkok working to rescue and treat animals that are affected by the worst floods in over 50 years.

World Vets, an international veterinary aid organization, has two US veterinarians and a dog rescuer on the ground in Bangkok, Thailand rescuing and treating animals.  What we are hearing from them is worse than expected:  An estimated 60,000 stray and abandoned dogs are trying to survive the flooding by congregating on higher ground.  One area, now known by the locals as “dog island” has recently become home to over 150 dogs.  They have no access to food.
